Everything is at the centre of its own universe and when I look through my viewfinder I am reminded that I can capture this centre only once.
One strand of my photographic practice is the evocation of textural and visceral sensation. I am interested in photography as a means of engagement of the world, exploring the boundaries between nostalgia and the present moment, beauty and repulsion, awareness and instinct.
I am in the process of working through an MA in Fine Art and have a first class BA(Hons) in Photography where I worked in a variety of formats researching my passion for the Japanese Provoke aesthetic and the evocation of form in photography and visual representation.
Recurrent themes in my work centre around the exquisite pain of loss, the wonder of small moments, pure form, the impulse to touch and the outer physical world as representation of the emotional, personal interior.
